Patient Details

This patient is seen here after gynecomastia surgery revision – treatment of his secondary gynecomastia. He had treatment done elsewhere that left him with breasts and significant scarring under the chest as well as around the areolas. I don’t know what happened or why they made scars around the areolas but it is what it is.He is seen here after I removed extensive scar tissue and injected his scars with steroids. He is only 3 weeks out. He is still swollen and you can see the indents from the quilting sutures that I used especially on the right side. These will go away.Things are totally different for him now. He is extremely happy and he looks totally different especially when you see him in person. Breasts are gone now!You can imagine that I see many cases of gynecomastia who have had previous treatment with suboptimal results. These are more challenging in many ways but most of the time I can make things right. The most common presentation for additional treatment from a previous gynecomastia surgery is that it was undertreated. In many cases, I wouldn’t even know that the patient had previous treatment as they clearly have female like breasts. It’s disappointing for sure but it’s good to know that it can be fixed and that you can achieve the result you desired in the first place. Choose your surgeon wisely as many of them will tell you this is “nothing” and that they have been there many times before. Are you sure about that?
