Patient 22006
This patient is 4 months out from his gynecomastia treatment. He was very overweight as a teenager and then lost the weight. This resulted in the sagging skin of his chest with gynecomastia. Although there are surgeons who would recommend skin removal treatment with long scars across the chest and around the areolas, my experience told me he would do well with my “standard” approach (no skin removal with complete removal of all the gynecomastia tissue).
He has a very nice result although imperfect. He has some skin excess on his left side with a small crease. This is a insignificant consequence of treatment and quite acceptable particularly when you consider the alternative skin removal appearance. When treating these more challenging cases where skin retraction and redistribution is essential to a bare chest level of satisfaction, my patients have to do their part by working their recovery for months ensuring ideal skin contouring. You invest and you will be rewarded. You ignore and contour irregularities and scar tissue formation is not uncommon. Patient compliance with post treatment instructions is excellent because they want the very best results.
