Patient Details

This young man developed puberty related gynecomastia and made it considerably worse over the years by using body building supplements. He is seen here 8 months from treatment in my office because he developed a small mass on his right side near his nipple. It is scar tissue and I injected it with steroids. He came in for follow up because he just wanted assurances that it wasn’t a recurrence.

Recurrence after treatment of gynecomastia at my AGC is VERY rare as I am know as the doc who described complete removal of gynecomastia tissue. I suspect it happens in some patients who have particularly sensitive tissue that responds to stimulation (normal hormones or substances taken by the patient).

It is an impressive sized mass that was removed from his chest. Young, healthy skin retracts well compared to patients who are older and those who have had significant weight loss. Your skin determines your destiny after gynecomastia treatment. The most challenging cases are those patients who have significant gynecomastia in terms of size and shape, and who have marginal skin quality as a decision has to be made about skin removal or not. In all patients it is essential that they manage their recovery and do the things that have proven effective during the healing period which lasts many months.
